In commemoration of World Malaria Day today, Goodknight, a leading insecticide brand under Godrej Nigeria Limited, stepped up its efforts to combat malaria in Lagos by protecting over 20,000 families in Lagos with its insecticide products through house-to-house free insecticide donation in addition to stocking up all comprehensive primary healthcare centers (PHCs) in Lagos with free insecticides.
Last year, WHO estimated 600,000+ malaria deaths around the world with over 30% of those deaths in Nigeria alone. Thus, while progress is being made, Malaria remains a significant public health challenge for many Nigerians, particularly the less privileged and impoverished communities. Goodknight’s World Malaria Day initiative aims to provide essential protection against malaria-carrying mosquitoes, especially in vulnerable areas.
In acknowledgement of the donation of 5,000 units to PHCs, the permanent secretary, Lagos State primary health care board, Dr Bowale Abimbola express his appreciation of Goodknight’s support to Lagos state’s effort of riding the state of Malaria and safeguarding the health of every Lagosian especially the kids and vulnerable.
